Common questions

Which areas are covered?

The United States. Radar, watches and warnings come from NOAA and the National Weather Service, which cover the US and its territories.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no login.

Why do the models disagree?

They are built by different agencies with different physics. The app ranks them by how each has performed at your location.

Are my saved fields private?

Their names stay on your device. Fetching a field’s rainfall sends its coordinates and nothing else. See the privacy policy.

Does the app send severe weather alerts?

No. FieldCast Weather shows National Weather Service watches and warnings for your location while you have it open, but it does not send notifications and will not alert you when the app is closed. For warnings that affect life or property, rely on NOAA Weather Radio, a dedicated alerting app, or your local emergency management agency.

Something looks wrong

Email us with your location and roughly when you saw it, and we will look into it.

Severe weather

FieldCast Weather is a planning tool, not an emergency alert system. Forecasts and model rankings are estimates and can be wrong. For warnings that affect life or property, rely on the National Weather Service, NOAA Weather Radio and your local emergency management agency.
